Without a doubt our favorite kava of all time. Processed in Fiji from a single cultivar 6yr old "Kasa Loa" root. Some call it Loa Waka but it's actually called Kasa Loa, describing the black stem of the kava plant. Grown in the lush tropical highlands of the hidden paradise of Savusavu the Royal Fiji Platinum Lewena is guarandeed to be unlike any kava you have tried before. 

Contrary to the colour of the stem the Platinum Lewena is a peeled 100% white lewena root. Smelling like cookies and cream and tasting as smooth as kava should.

Platinum Lewena is grown for 6yrs and removed from the waka root so its the strongest most potent lewena you will find. 
Super fine grind will give you the most bang for your buck and there are no unusable particles in the bag.
Only 1-2 tablespoons per 600ml water. Due to the grind of this kava you are able to use significantly less for the exact same mix strength.
Perfectly dried so there is no need to vacuum pack this product. It will come with a 2yr expiry date. 

The Platinum Lewena Kava is not just any lewena, it is removed right from the waka root so its not made from the stump. Platinum lewena is 6yr matured root and unlike anything you've tried before.

How to Make Kava - Shaker Bag Method

Step 1: Add 2-3 Tablespoons to the kava pros shaker bag and zip up tightly.
<<Ensure the zipper is sealed all the way to the end>>
Step 2: Fill a normal shaker bottle up with 600-800ml water
Step 3: Shake bottle for 40 seconds until liquid is nice and dark.
Step 4: Drink approx. 100ml at a time in one go.
Follow up with another 100ml cup every 10-15min while you do other things.

Packaging for Freshness

All our kava is dried & packed so it stays fresh for longer. In Fiji much of our drinking kava is packed in paper bags. With the tropical climate most excess moisture in the kava is absorbed by the paper leaving less room for the growth of pathogens. Unfortunately in the Aussie climate, particularly in winter if the kava is not dried properly the moisture in the powder can develop mould. 
Any kava drinker in Australia will tell you that kava can develop a mouldy smell and I will know it as soon as you open the bag. With thousands of kilos being imported into Australia without the proper preparation or packaging there will no doubt be tonnes of bad kava for sale right now.

It is advisable to avoid driving or operating heavy machinery, especially when you are not familiar with how kava affects you. Kava can cause drowsiness and impair coordination in some individuals. Kava cannot be detected on police breath test.

10. Can I mix kava with other substances, like alcohol?
NO! Mixing kava with alcohol or other substances is not advised, as it may amplify the sedative effects and increase the risk of adverse reactions. Always consult with a healthcare professional if you are taking medications or have concerns about potential interactions.

11. Are there any specific guidelines for kava consumption?
We recommed drinking 100-150ml shots every 10-15min. If you are just starting out I would recommend mixing approximately 1lt of water with 5-6tbspn of kava powder.
This should be consumed within 45min to 1hr. 

12. Can pregnant or breastfeeding women consume kava?
- It is advisable for pregnant or breastfeeding women to avoid kava, as its safety in these situations has not been well studied. With that said many women in the Pacific drink moderate amounts of kava during pregnancy.

KNOW YOUR KAVA 

WAKA - Lateral Root

This is the business end of the kava root where the majority of the kavalactones is held.
Its strong, hard hitting and a dark colour when mixed. If your kava looks dark in colour you can be sure it is a waka dominant powder. 

Lewena - Basal Root

This is the less sedative part of the root system and located just above the waka and below the stem. Its smooth milky and plesent tasting and perfect for social occasions.

Kasa - Stem (Buyer Beware)

The kasa is used by dishonest sellers to bulk up the weight of thier product and it is truly an ugly part of the kava trade. Kasa should only be used for replanting. When pounded up with waka and lewena there is really no way to tell what it is you're drinking. The only way to tell is when you feel sick and hungover the next day. 

Kava pros can confirm we never use kasa or stem in any of our kava products. 

Kava Pros do not buy or trade kava less than 3 years old. Kava Pros firmly believe that kava root should be left in the ground for an absolute minimum of 3 years.
We do not encourage our farmers to harvest their crop unless its at least 3 years old.
